ODYSSEUS 2024 will be held in Carmona (Spain), a beautiful small city that lies only 35 kilometers from Seville. Its origins go back to the Neolithic period, with rich prehistoric sites having been found in the surrounding area. An Iberian town – one of its early governors was very actively involved in the Second Punic war (218-202 B.C.), it was intensively Romanized, and the importance of Carmona was recognized when it was granted the privilege of minting its own coins. The Via Augusta road – which ran all the way from what is now Cadiz to Rome, went through Carmona, and various remains and a bridge with evident Roman  elements  have survived to this day. Nowadays, the town still follows, with only very minor variations, the typical Roman urban layout..   More info in https://turismo.carmona.org
