For people leaving in the North of Spain and Portugal, the fastest way to arrive in Cádiz is to travel by plane. There are two possibilities:
- The shortest choice is to fly to Jerez Airport (“Aeropuerto Internacional de Jerez La Parra”), which is 45 kms. from Cádiz. Once you have reached the airport, you can catch either a train or a bus from Jerez Airport to Cádiz railway station (“Plaza de Sevilla”). Both the train and the bus between Jerez and Cádiz take between one hour and one hour and a half. There are at least three daily trains as well as three daily buses between Jerez Airport and Cádiz train station (similar frequency applies for the return trip). Close to the exit of Cádiz train station, you can find a bus stop for Bus number 1 (“Cuesta de las Calesas-Renfe” stop), and Bus number 1 will take you to a bus stop close to Hotel Occidental Cádiz (“San Felipe” stop).
- The alternative choice is to fly to Sevilla Airport. Once in Sevilla Airport, you can catch a bus (line EA) to Sevilla Railway Station (“Santa Justa”). Buses leave every hour from Sevilla Airport and the bus transportation takes about half an hour (https://www.aeropuerto-sevilla.com/seville-airport/transportation/seville-airport-bus.php). When you arrive in Sevilla railway station, you can get a train from Sevilla railway station to Cádiz railway station. Trains take about 1 hour and 45 minutes between Sevilla and Cádiz, and there are ususally six daily trains between the two towns in both directions. Close to the exit of Cádiz train station, you can find a bus stop of Bus number 1 (“Cuesta de las Calesas-Renfe” stop), and Bus number 1 will take you to a bus stop close to Hotel Occidental Cádiz (“San Felipe” stop).
